For many farms (in this hemisphere, anyway), January is the most relaxing month. There is still work to do, but the only urgent daily task is making sure livestock water isn’t frozen over. Most of January is spent preparing and planning, making purchases for the season ahead and getting paperwork out of the way. Fortunately, most of this oddly civilized farm work occurs indoors.
Although these jobs comprise 90% of the mental effort of farming, they would make a pretty boring post. A new update with lots of farm news is coming this weekend!
